(not uber great prizes I know, but I have no CMO merch atm, and this gives me something to work up to later on... "4 years" is hardly the most significant bday ever...)

After I got that 95 for 3D animation (yaaay!) I followed it up with a 66 for video post production (booo!!) .. Mostly by being too subtle with the "effects", which is pretty stupid of me. Don't know of anyone else doing better though so, meh.

Half way through the year now, trying to keep the average up. I'm not even going to try getting a placement next year for a couple of reasons. I've seen (and want to do) next year's brief, and none of the guys I've been working with are doing placements, so when I come back to do year 3 it'd be a gamble as to who I end up with. I'd also just like to have all this academic stuff finally behind me, point proven, etc..

I start uni properly next week.. Confusingly they've moved me to another group. That'd make sense if they'd moved more than just me, but I seem to be the only person who's been shuffled.. Maybe its based on our marks.. Maybe they have a plan..

Or maybe it's just random and annoying.

On Monday I'll be going to my old group's sessions and I'll try working out why they've done it. I work well with a couple of people in my old group.. Having a completely new one is a bit of a gamble. Meergh. I don't know..

It's strange to think that 1GB of ram is proving 'not quite enough for optimal performance'..

I'm thinking back to when 1MB was 'not quite enough for optimal performance'.. I wasn't trying to do as much back then, but still.. Progress is weird!

To get more Ram because of the 64bit Dual G5 thing I'll actually have to get 2 identical DIMMs, which runs the price up. Bah. Using Crucial.com prices - £62 for two 512MB dimms or £126 for two 1GB Dimms.. 3GB should be enough for anyone! Hmm. 2GB total should be fine. Won't do any harm to be prepared for when Leopard comes out though. 1GB is really "ok" now - it just slows when i do crazy stuff in photoshop. That seems to happen a lot.. And Photoshop doesn't exactly seem to speed up with each new version.


CMO's 2nd "birthday" came and went.. I'm coming up to the end of the first book. Half of me wants to finish it ASAP, redo some earlier bits and move on.. Another part of me is dragging it's feet - it'll be very strange not updating for a long period.. It's taught me a lot. Been very helpful practice and experimentation.
