OW.. Goddamn teeth.
Yesterday they took out 3 of my wisdom teeth.

My mouth hurts. Everything tastes of blood. I'm all swollen up. :(

The two bottom ones were so sideways they couldnt pull them so they widened the sockets (drilled actual bone? Argh) and cut them up in situ.. Fortunately i was under general anesthetic.

Elizabeth is doing fine - ive got a lot of photos to put up soon but ive been a bit short on time.

My end of year presentation went unprecedentedly well. The whole group did their bits well and we all ended up with >70 in each of the 4 modules we were being graded on. Which is pretty crazy really. Going in to year three on the right footing at least.

Now I'll try sleep again. ow.

You have my sympathy. I had pretty much the same thing done to me in my mid 20s. Have they stitched your gums to your cheek? They did that to me, and I made the mistake of getting bored and going into work like that. I shared an office with the chairman of the company I worked for, and he kept making me laugh. Nearly tore an extra hole in my face.

Probably just as well you got them done now. You wouldn't want life to be too perfect, would you?

Oops, yeah I thought "that sounds crazy why on earth would they do that!" so i felt inside my mouth with a finger and yea it does feel like they sewed a bit of my cheeks to the gums on both sides. I'm not sure they could have avoided it given the lack of space, but OW.. That explains why it hurts so much if i force my mouth open. haha.

On the bad side it feels like they might have cut some of my cheek off and flapped it over to make new gum..? I have no idea if that even works, but either way there's definitely a pretty big chunk of the inside of my cheek missing next to one of the holes. uugh. (and its not from me pulling it off by opening my mouth, as there'd be a ..

Yeah, this is gross.

Yup I'm really glad they're done now the swelling is going down a little. Won't ever need it done again, and at least Libby is immobile so im not having to run around after her all the time. :)

I had one of mine out last week, it felt amazing at the time, amazing for about four hours after [local anesthetic] then absolutely awful ever since. I had stitches too, I totally sympathise with the cheek stitched to gum thing. Did they give you antibiotics too? I was in alot of pain so they took the stitches out and I have an infection, obviously that happens a lot what with you having to eat and everything.

I hope you're feeling tip top soon!

ps I felt generally run down and ill too, I think that's the body repairing open wounds and stuff, so don't run a marathon or anything.
