Boo! So I've been trying Windows 7 RC..
It's.. .. Actually really nice! Makes Vista seem very unfinished, like a stepping stone they didn't really know what to do with. A lot of the old legacy stuff is stripped out and everything is much more logically placed. It doesn't just feel like XP re-skinned anymore..
It also has a dock-taskbar thing instead of the quicklaunch bar+taskbar, which makes much more sense. Things are more responsive and OsX-like.
Soo, it's a shame Bootcamp and Parallels only vaguely support it. I can make it work in one but not the other. It Blue Screens when I try to run it in whichever environment i didn't install it in.. So I'm stuck with Vista for now.. Or having to ditch my Parallels integration, which i can't really do!
Looking forward to the upgrade once everything supports it though, which wasn't really the case with Vista.
Saying that, I definitely recommend Windows 7rc.. You can download it from MS. |

This is what happens when I put a load of examples from most of the uni projects I've done over the last 3 years. It's not by any means my best work, some is pretty wonky. I've done this more to remind me what projects I actually did, and in what order..
If anything it shows how much I've learnt about 3D modelling.. When I started the course I didn’t really think I could do it, now it's pretty straightforward.
Next I need to upload trailers for "Get Stuffed" itself, and then make a proper demo reel. Yay! :) |

| Uni (virtually) finished! |

This was at our student showcase, with the great little team ive been working with for the last couple of years. (James, Sam, Julien, me) I'll miss them!
I only have loose ends left until uni is totally behind me. Wow. That crept up on me a bit! Marks wise i know I've done well.. Very well considering the situation I think, so i'll be happy regardless.
I'm going to upload a load of stuff soon...

Just a photo of Eli at Golden Acre Park.. No reason other than I can..
Uni stuff is scarily close to being over. My 5 man group has been entered into Game Republic's student thing in the "Game Design" category. Then the following week we have another student showcase thing as well as a final presentation. Then I have a 4000 word report to write about the project, and my research report to finish. (got an open extension on it) Things are coming along well, I'll show some stuff from the final project here when it's all prettied up.
It is pretty impossible to fit the work in with Eli, Kat has had to take today off work so I can do an all day meeting/work session with the guys.
Other than that my new Nikkor VR lens arrived, and sofar seems exactly what I wanted! I'm trying to geek up on SLR/Photography stuff, it would be very useful to understand how to use the equipment fully.
Oh and if it looks like i dont post at all.. That's true.. No time really. I do post quite a lot on my flickr and my twitter accounts, so you can follow me there!

| Eli is ONE! |

One whole year old! (Yesterday to be precise, so I'm late, oops!)
She can stand (with something to climb up) she made her first attempt at going upstairs today - made it onto the first step up.. Uhoh..
She can say hi, hello, bye, cat, and count to two.. (all a bit fuzzy pronunciation wise but she uses them at mostly appropriate times..) She does high-fives, claps, sticks her tongue out if you do it first, crawls around really fast, gets into everything.. (notice the fire guard protecting the consoles, hmm..) She loves "In The Night Garden", and remote controls.. Whenever I'm playing something she gets one of the spare PS3 controllers.. (distracts her from wanting mine briefly at least).. She loves being carried around and climbing more than anything and really enjoyed the couple of times i took her into university (to the confusion of other students)..
She's had a fun day with family around and chinese food, birthday cupcakes and jelly (she isn't really a picky eater!)
Elizabeth had a good birthday!
